Hello, everyone! It's been a while, but we are back with a major update. Check out the patch notes below.

  • Added NPCs (trainers and shop) to FAT
  • Changed resolution and window mode settings to a dropdown toggle
  • Added brief type and form explanation to tutorial battle
  • Various UI improvements
  • Rephrased item use text
  • Added date caught data to each Medimon instance
  • Added water!
  • Updated aspect ratios – only 16x9 supported now
  • DUAL TYPES! Many Medimon have new been given a secondary typing
  • NEW TYPE EFFECTIVENESS! The type effectiveness chart is now much more connected. Some preexisting interactions have been changed, so we’re working on a graphic to display the type-chart cleanly
  • TYPED MOVES! Moves now have types! The effectiveness and UI display changes have taken place. If a Medimon uses a move shares its primary type, the move will get a 50% increase to its power, whereas as secondary type will get a 25% increase (neither indicated in-game)
  • NEW MOVES! We completely overhauled our moves, improving their balance, and allowing evolved Medimon to keep their prior evolutions moves.
  • NEW SPEED STAT! Medimon now have a speed stat in addition to hp, atp, stress, attack, and defense.  The turn order is now based off this rather than level
  • Status rework: status conditions only have a set percentage chance of being inflicted, depending on the move used. Some moves will still inflict without fail.
  • New move effects:
    • Flinch: 1/8 chance of not attacking if you got hit by a move that can flinch on the same turn
    • Bound: While the Medimon is bound, it takes 1/12 of it's maximum health per turn and cannot be switched out
    • Critical hits! All moves (unless specified otherwise) have a 7.6% chance of landing a critical hit; in which the damage does not take into account any defense buffs of the defender, and the damage is multiplied by 2x
    • Fatigue and Weakness: Fatigue has been changed from halving attack to lowering speed at the end of each turn. A new status, weakness, now does the same but for attack.
  • MEDITEXT REWORK! The Meditext has now been overhauled, featuring lots of useful information such as base stats, evolution data, level-up moveset, mnemonics, and more! Our goal is to have  the Meditext read more like a wiki than a small piece of token lore.
    • Additionally, the Meditext now reveals information in three states. No information if you haven’t seen the Medi, a little information if you’ve just seen it, and all the information if you’ve caught one.
  • Map tooltips! Locations are now marked with a little flag that reveals information about the location
  • STAT VALUES! Two new type of stat experience has been added: Genetic Values (GVs), and Trained Values (TVs). For those experienced with Pokemon, these are similar to Individual Values (IVs) and Effort Values (EVs).
    • GVs: when a Medimon is instantiated, a random value between 0 and 46 inclusive is generated for each of the 6 stats. The higher the value, the larger a boost to that stat. These are essentially the Medimon’s genetics.
    • TVs: whenever you defeat another Medimon, all of your Medimon that gain EXP from the defeat gains some TVs. These are determined by the medimon species defeated, and typically correlate to the base stats of the Medimon. Exact TV yield can be viewed in the Meditext page for that Medimon. Each stat can hold up to 206 TVs, but only 420 TVs can be obtained in total. Just like GVs, TVs increase their respective stat, but not as much as GVs.
  • ACHIEVEMENTS! The achievement view of the pause menu has now been filled with achievements! These give you goals to accomplish along your journey, some may even have a reward in it for you!
  • Misc. QOL changes:
    • Both escape and Q can be pressed to toggle the pause menu
    • Added indicator when text is waiting for input
    • Moved move tooltips to an ‘i’ button that shows a separate UI canvas
    • Player now has the option to skip the tutorial
    • Fixed bug where items could be sold or bought in amounts of 0
    • Added stat modifier indicators to the battle HUD
    • The notifications in the bottom right of the screen no longer overlap
    • New Medimon summary view with more information, including a radar graph to display the stats
    • You can now hold down the mouse button to speed up dialogue text
    • You can now click anywhere on the victory transition to continue to the loadings screen
